Today, crossing the Strait is very different from how it was done before.

But not as much as you might think.

Sailors now have GPS, electronic charts,

very precise weather forecasts…

even systems that show real-time traffic of other vessels.

All that makes planning a route much more accurate than a few decades ago.

But something hasn’t changed.

This remains a demanding place.

The currents, the wind…

and the maritime traffic itself require constant attention.

That’s why, although technology helps,

experience remains fundamental.

Knowing how to interpret what you see,

anticipating…

and making decisions at the right moment.

If you look at the boats around you, you’ll see that mix.

Classic sailboats coexisting with modern vessels,

catamarans, yachts equipped with advanced systems…

all in the same space.

It’s a good image of how navigation has evolved.

More technology, yes.

But the essence remains the same.

Because in the end, sailing here still depends on the same as always:

Understanding the sea.

And you… would you trust technology more… or the experience of someone who’s made the crossing many times?
