Once again, the blue flag is flying at Alcaidesa Marina.
On Monday, July 28, Alcaidesa Marina raised the blue flag at its facilities in La Línea de la Concepción.
Since its inception, Alcaidesa Marina has received this award every year from ADEAC (Association of Environmental and Consumer Education), which recognizes the effort and represents the renewal of Alcaidesa Marina’s commitment to the environment, environmental education, safety, and accessibility.
As a sign of this commitment, during the month of May, Alcaidesa Marina once again held the “Know Your Port” conference, which is part of the educational program offered by the City Council of La Línea de la Concepción for the 2024/2025 academic year. Over three days, 350 third-grade primary school students visited the marina and learned about the natural environment of the marina, the importance of caring for the environment, the protected natural species in the area, and water sports.
At this event, which was so significant for Alcaidesa Marina, the director, Mr. José Antonio Valbuena, was accompanied by the mayor of La Línea de la Concepción, Mr. Juan Franco, Mr. Rafael Olivares, deputy director of Operations at the Bay of Algeciras Port Authority, as well as local authorities and security forces.

The mayor expressed his satisfaction with this consecutive achievement “by one of our city’s leading nautical, tourism, and sports facilities.” He also congratulated the management of Alcaidesa Marina for their work and highlighted the Port Authority’s support for projects that promote the city.
For his part, Rafael Olivares highlighted the importance of this recognition: “We are proud that facilities such as these, of this level and category, which are located within the port area, have been awarded the Blue Flag, because it means that we are involved in green initiatives and are doing things right.”
Obtaining the Blue Flag award year after year, together with the drive of both municipal and port institutions for the continuous environmental improvement of the coastline, positions Alcaidesa Marina as a benchmark marina in the environmental field on the Andalusian coast for sailors from all over the world who are aligned with these values of quality and sustainability, as well as the new Alcaidesa Marina Leisure & Shopping commercial park, which is scheduled to open next summer, will do so in terms of services and innovation, making Alcaidesa Marina an international benchmark in the nautical sector.
Also attending the Blue Flag raising ceremony were the Councilor for Tourism, Mercedes Atanet; the Municipal Delegate for Beaches, Rafael León; the Commercial Director of Alcaidesa Marina, Ana Morales; the National Police station chief, María José Martínez; the chief captain of the Civil Guard, Fernando de Cózar; and the chief of the Local Police, Rafael Aradas, along with members of the three security forces, whom we would like to thank for their attendance.
