On 28 August, Alcaidesa Marina once again became a meeting point for solidarity, sport and community as it hosted the 10th Women’s Race. Hundreds of people filled our facilities with colour and energy to complete a 5-kilometre route in support of APRON, creating an unforgettable pink tide by the sea.
The event brought together participants of all ages with one shared goal: to support people living with cancer and their families. From the very beginning, enthusiasm and solidarity shaped the atmosphere at the marina, where every step became a demonstration of support, hope and commitment to a cause that concerns us all.
Beyond its sporting character, the Women’s Race once again showed how this event can unite local residents, institutions, partner clubs and volunteers around an initiative that has become firmly established in La Línea de la Concepción and the Campo de Gibraltar.
A pink tide swept through Alcaidesa Marina for a great cause
The 5-kilometre route gave participants the opportunity to enjoy the exceptional setting of Alcaidesa Marina while they and their supporters showed their backing for APRON’s work. Pink, the colour of the day, filled every corner of our facilities and turned the marina into a powerful image of unity in the face of cancer.
The participation of hundreds of people confirmed once again that sport can be a valuable way to raise awareness, provide support and mobilise society. Every entry and every gesture of solidarity helped to highlight the realities faced by people living with cancer and their families, while also recognising the daily work of the associations that stand beside them.

A very special 10th-anniversary celebration
The tenth edition deserved a celebration worthy of its history. After the route was completed, the event continued with Zumba, music and a festive atmosphere that invited everyone to come together, enjoy themselves and celebrate everything achieved over the past ten years.
Ten editions moving forward together
The 10th Women’s Race was much more than a sporting event. It celebrated a decade of solidarity, public participation and commitment to those facing cancer. Its journey has continued to grow thanks to the shared efforts of participants, partner organisations and volunteers.
The enthusiasm felt throughout the afternoon reflected the true spirit of this initiative. Families, groups of friends, athletes and local residents enjoyed a programme designed for all ages, during a day in which emotion and joy went hand in hand.
Thank you for filling our marina with hope
Everyone at Alcaidesa Marina would like to express our sincere gratitude to all those who made this edition possible. Thank you to everyone who took part in the race, the institutions involved, the partner clubs, the organising teams and, in particular, the volunteers who contributed their time and effort to ensure the event was a success.
The support received shows that when a community comes together around a shared cause, every small gesture can have an enormous impact. Hosting this event once again at our facilities is a source of great pride and strengthens our determination to continue supporting initiatives that contribute to social well-being and enrich life in our local area.
Alcaidesa Marina thus maintains its commitment to La Línea de la Concepción and the Campo de Gibraltar, not only as a leading marina but also as a space open to the community and a setting for events capable of generating awareness, solidarity and hope.
After an unforgettable tenth edition, we are already counting down the days until we meet again at the next Women’s Race.
Thank you for filling our marina with hope
