Alcaidesa Marina attended the Southampton Boat Show 2026, one of the UK’s most important boating events. Held from 18 to 27 September at Mayflower Park, the show brought together boat owners, marine industry professionals and sailing enthusiasts. It gave Alcaidesa Marina an opportunity to introduce its facilities to an international audience and highlight its strategic location in the Campo de Gibraltar, between the Atlantic and the Mediterranean.
A meeting point for the international boating community
Over ten days, visitors explored boats, marine equipment, new technologies and specialist services. The 2026 edition featured more than 700 brands and over 500 boats, as well as demonstrations, water activities, talks and professional networking events.
For Alcaidesa Marina, the show was an opportunity to reach boaters looking for more than a place to berth: security, high-quality facilities, personal service and marine services in one location.
A strategic location for sailing between two seas
The UK has long had a close connection with recreational boating in the Mediterranean. Many British boat owners use the Spanish coast as a holiday destination, a home port or a starting point for voyages towards southern Europe, North Africa and the Atlantic islands.
The Strait of Gibraltar is a key passage on these routes, connecting the Atlantic and the Mediterranean. Located in the Bay of Algeciras next to Gibraltar, Alcaidesa Marina offers a strategic base for planning the next leg of a voyage. Its proximity to La Línea, Gibraltar Airport and transport links to Málaga and Jerez also makes it easier for owners, crews and technical teams to reach the marina.
Berths for a range of vessels
Alcaidesa Marina has 624 berths for boats from 8 to 90 metres in length. This capacity allows it to welcome vessels making a short stopover, as well as owners seeking a longer stay or a year-round base.
Berths for boats of up to 20 metres are mainly located on floating pontoons with finger piers, which make boarding and manoeuvring easier. Larger vessels have spaces on fixed pontoons, with vehicle access and private parking areas.
Before booking, owners should consider their vessel’s length, beam, draught and type, along with the duration of their stay. Berths have water and electricity connections, while some pontoons include systems that make it easier to manage these resources.
Boatyard, maintenance and services for your stay
The marina offers haul-out and launching services, hull cleaning, antifouling, anode replacement and repair work. Its boat hoists have lifting capacities ranging from 75 to 160 tonnes. The marina also has specialist workshops for mechanical, electrical and electronic work, fibreglass repairs and engine maintenance, as well as dry storage and winter storage options.
Marina staff are available 24 hours a day. Services for customers include security patrols, CCTV, access control, Wi-Fi, parking, laundry facilities, toilets and showers.
Awards and surroundings
Alcaidesa Marina holds the 5 Gold Anchors accreditation and received the Marina of the Year 2021 award. It is also part of Trans Europe Marinas, a European network of marinas. The marina highlights its environmental commitment through waste management and responsible use of resources. Details of its awards and accreditations should be checked for current validity.
A stay at the marina also offers the chance to enjoy the food, culture and natural landscapes of the Campo de Gibraltar. At Alcaidesa Lounge Bar, guests can relax or meet their crew on a terrace overlooking the harbour. The surrounding area also offers coastal routes, golf courses and easy access to other destinations in Andalusia.
