As a benchmark marina in La Línea de la Concepción and throughout the Campo de Gibraltar region, Alcaidesa Marina became the main regional hub for astronomical observation by welcoming hundreds of attendees who gathered to witness the recent solar eclipse in La Línea de la Concepción. An unforgettable event that showcased our port facility’s capacity to foster unique cultural, recreational, and environmental experiences right by the sea.

The open invitation issued by the entity vastly exceeded all initial participation expectations. Throughout the day, it was wonderful to see how we were joined not only by our regular nautical clients and users, but also by a multitude of families and astronomy enthusiasts who traveled from various municipalities across the region and even from neighboring provinces. All of them arrived drawn by the opportunity to experience this remarkable gift of nature in a strategic and privileged setting along the Andalusian coast.

A festive, safe, and energizing atmosphere at the Control Tower

The astronomical event unfolded within a festive, welcoming, and deeply community-oriented atmosphere. The central hub of activity was located right next to the iconic Control Tower, one of the most recognizable landmarks of the port complex. This space buzzed with vitality and excitement from the early hours as attendees continuously arrived to collect certified solar protection glasses—an essential measure organized to ensure that viewing the celestial phenomenon took place with maximum guarantees of eye safety.

To complement this astronomical experience, the event program featured a top-tier wellness initiative: a well-attended Sunset Yoga session held on the central street, located directly behind the main service building. The session was conducted in direct collaboration with the prestigious Association Yoga-s Sadhana, offering participants a fantastic opportunity to connect deeply with the energy of the sun and the moon while the surrounding marine landscape was painted in the stunning hues of dusk.
