The trophy award ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Club Marítimo de Mahón at 19.10 hours today, put the finishing touches to the 14th edition of the Copa del Rey Panerai de Barcos de Época (Classic Sailing Menorca 2017) held in Menorcan waters from last Thursday until today. Hallowe' en (Big Boats), Linnet (Época Cangreja), Cippino (Época Marconi), Ardi (Clásicos) and Calima (Spirit of Tradition) collected the trophy that accredits them as champions of the most important historic boat regatta in Spain. Panerai delivered a watch to each of the winning owners of the Epoch, Classic, Spirit of Tradition and Big Boat class.
The president of the Club Marítimo Mahón, Antonio Hernández; the president of the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona, Félix Escalas; the general director of Panerai for Spain and Portugal, Mario Giménez; the president of the Real Federación Española de Vela, Julia Casanueva; the insular director of the General State Administration in Menorca, Javier López; Carlos Montes, deputy mayor of Sports of the City Council of Mahón.
Today we are putting an end to one of the best editions of the Copa del Rey Panerai. These three days were accompanied by the wind and we were able to complete the entire competition program. We have also had a fleet of legendary legends and have corroborated the status of reference of the Club Marítimo de Mahón and the Real Club Náutico de Barcelona, organizers of the Copa del Rey Panerai, in the international circuit of classic and vintage boats,"said Antonio Hernádez.
