Tomorrow 5th October, Alcaidesa Marina will conduct the fifth seabed clean-up around the port, with the collaboration of the Cies and Caetaria diving clubs. On the occasion of the AcorrucArte conference, the Department of the Environment and Alcaidesa Marina will be extending the scheduled clean-up to Levante beach.
The initiative will start at 11.00 am, setting out from the Alcaidesa Lounge Bar in the marina.
The Regional Representative for the Environment, Raquel Ñeco, explained that her department and Alcaidesa Marina will be giving volunteers a cloth bag with their name on and the type of material that they should collect, such as lids, cans, bottles, shells, etc. After being cleaned, these items will be used as raw materials to design pieces at the environmental education creative workshops that the association Reiniciarte will be holding at AcorrucArte, a marine-related conference that will take place between 23 and 26 October.
Ms Ñeco thanked Alcaidesa Marina for its ongoing collaboration with the activities fostered by the City Council, as well as for its engagement in environmental protection matters.
