Alcaidesa Marina had the pleasure of receiving Richard Mayon-White prior to his departure on his Tropic 4 Cancer Trans Atlantic Challenge. Richard who departed from Gibraltar on the 26th October, used the Alcaidesa Boatyard, in Southern Spain, for re-launching & rigging of the Haskapa.

The challenge is an expedition to sail single-handed 4000 miles across the Atlantic, from the western seaboard of Africa to the Caribbean following a defined course along the Tropic of Cancer. The primary aim of the challenge is to raise money for two good causes: Sobell House and Sail 4 Cancer. Richard will be sailing the route on the Haskapa a 21 ft yacht from Gibraltar to the Bahamas.
